Prior to beginning the design phase of this ambitious project, CMW’s architects and interior designers conducted a department-by-department needs assessment. This process involved the inventory and evaluation of existing furniture, office equipment, file storage, and medical equipment, etc., as well as anticipation of probable future requirements. By then developing a detailed plan of action for utilizing existing furnishings when possible or procuring new furnishings when not, we were able to address all of the owner’s current and future needs. This state-of-the-art facility enables Dermatology Associates of Kentucky’s staff of nine board-certified dermatologists to provide comprehensive medical, surgical, pediatric and cosmetic dermatological care in one central location. The clinic design utilizes an attractive pod system that preserves the intimacy and privacy valued by patients. Within the facility there are nine dedicated procedure rooms and an ambulatory surgery center with three hospital-grade operating suites. The surgery center also includes a comfortable recovery room and has private entrances and exits. In addition, the new facility allows Dermatology Associates of Kentucky to expand their full-service, in-house dermatology laboratory. Convenience, meanwhile, extends to the parking lot, where there are 150 spaces on the premises.
