The Woodford County Senior Citizens Center is a 12,000 square foot facility dedicated to the enrichment and quality of life of the senior citizens of Woodford County. It provides two primary functions. With its Dining room, game room, library, media room and craft center, this facility encourages the social, mental and physical lifestyle of the seniors. The programming and activities in this part of the facility develops and maintains, with strong support from peers and staff the social, mental and physical acuity in the lives of the guests. The second function of the facility is an adult day care center. The social hall and the occupational therapy rooms, with support showers and laundry, permit the professional staff to provide daily care for the disadvantaged and handicapped patrons. The programming in this part of the facility focuses on the exercise of thinking and motor skills, control skills, as well as the daily care of adults that are unable to provide for their own needs. This is a day service that supports families with a good option for quality and active care during the working hours of the day. In addition the facility serves as a social hall for weddings, parties, anniversaries and even emergency shelter when needed.
